Are you ready to disconnect to reconnect?
Join us for a special series of 'Unlocked' fundraising events in support of Our Heath Barn CIC. Every penny raised will go towards helping to secure community ownership of Heath Barn.

As an organisation and having received and listened to hundreds of supporters we know how important the Arts, Creativity and history is to the people of Hemel Hempstead. We understand there is a severe lack of creative outlets and opportunities for local creatives and artists to share their work but we recognise the fantastic local organisations and businesses working hard to showcase and inspire our communities.

Engaging with Arts and Creativity and our heritage can be hugely beneficial for our mental wellbeing and happiness, it also can assist in creating opportunities for organic connection; especially crucial during these challenging times.
The clocks change on 30th March and the world will start to feel a little lighter and brighter as we begin to embrace the emergence of spring. Fancy embracing something new to help you bloom into the sunny season?

Want to be involved but feeling a little nervous? Please send Lisa an email ourheathbarn@outlook.com for extra reassurance and feel free to share any of your concerns. Not sure what you'd bring to the session? Just bring yourself and we can go from there!

What is a Heath Barn Unlocked’ Event?
Imagine the kind of activities that could happen in the barn if we had the key to Unlock that beautiful space...

Is there a project that keeps on getting cast aside in favour of the doom scroll dopamine hit of your phone? Are you seeking an outlet to be yourself in a warm, welcoming space surrounded by like minded individuals? Do you want to 'play' creatively in the comfort of a non-judgemental space? Do you want to meet others with similar interests or be introduced to learning something new?

Upon arrival, you’ll hand in your phone – it will be safely locked away in a ‘phone jail' and collected at the end of the evening.
After a short introduction, settle in to enjoy 45 minutes of personal creative time – bring a book, sketchpad, knitting, paints, or journal, and indulge in what you love minus the digital distraction. Get re-acquainted with you!
For the remaining time, engage in real, face-to-face conversations with fellow attendees – meet new people, share ideas, and make meaningful connections.

Feel free to bring board games and playing cards to invite strangers into conversation.

Niche hobbies are very welcome here!

There will be paper, pastels and charcoal to inspire some spontaneous creativity- it's all about play and process and not perfection!

In a world where our phones often act as distractions and obstruct us getting on with the things we 'want to do', these events will create an opportunity for space and time needed to focus on creativity, mindfulness, and community—mirroring the activities we envision at Heath Barn *once* we secure it for community use.

Who Can Attend?
This event is aimed at adults however those aged 13+ can attend with an accompanying adult – This is an inclusive event - All generations and genders are warmly welcomed!
